A Study on the Determination of Thiamia by Dimethylglyoxime-Fe(¥±)

Abstract
In a alkaline solution of two parts of dimethylglyoxime to one part of Fe( II ), it was found that the thiamine complex compound did not form the chelate compound, whereas it was formed when ammonia or pyridine were added to the solution of the same mole ratio of dimethyI-glyoxime and Fe( H).
On this basis, the extraction was made on the chelate compound with chloroform, having added the mixed solution of dimethylglyoxime-Fe(II) to the thiamine solution.
It was found that the thiamine chelate formation was predominant when the pH of the solution lay between 8.59.5, and both stability and maximum absorption of thiamine chelate solution were showed at 385 mac.
